It seems like only last week we’d shipped them off back to school (anyone else throw a party?) now we have the October half term to contend with. Halloween is more exciting than Christmas for Clark because he loves knocking on strangers door and asking for sweets (i worry about stranger danger with that one) Any how here your whats on guide for October half term aka how to attempt to entertain your kids without losing  your sanity from being cooped up indoors with the inevitable shit weather that will surely go hand in hand with a half term. 


  • Half term Halloween trail @Stowe perfect if you have a national trust pass. LINK  
  • Horrible Halloween @Waddesdon manor. Another national trust but this was a favourite of our last year! LINK 
  • Indoor inflatable play park Banbury @Banbury Academy. My ideal of hell but my kids idea of heaven. LINK 
  • OYAP half term activities plus a fright night@FormerSt Edburgs school. Looks creepy as hell especially the fright night and the special FX makeup workshop. (better for older kids)LINK
  • Halloween spook-tacular @Millets farm.Maze, circus, pick your own etc.LINK
  • Skelly’s funny bone trail, Banbury @spiceball park. Perfect bribe for an after shopping activity. LINK
  • The great pumpkin hunt @Waterperry gardens. we’ll probably be going to this one. LINK 
  • Halloween half term @green dragon eco farm. Absolutely love this place so even if the activities are crap the place itself is awesome! LINK
  • Halloween @Blenhiem palace. We did the maze last year, loved it and the train is always a favourite with the kids! LINK
  • Half term entertainment and craft @yarnton nurseries. Now this looks awesome especially if the kids love craft. Magics shows, face painting, hedgehog making, zombie, discos and more lots free of charge and they still have their beach (aka giant indoor sandpit) this i will be going to! LINK 
  • Halloween spooktacular @Evenley woods garden. Againa top favourite place for us  and this half term they have lots going on from Halloween crafts to wizard school to late night torch walks (i’d shit myself especially as i almost did during the day here) LINK
  • Spooktacular @oxford castle and prison.I must admit i’ve never to the castle been before butheres the LINK
  • Childrens jewellery making workshop @Millets farm. Great if you’re willing to wear a macaroni necklace for the next week. LINK
  • The curse of the scarlet sorcerer @The Westgate, Oxford. This is a free event but you do need tickets and they’re going quick so chop chop. LINK


Monday 22nd

  • Moon festival celebration @OYAP trust (old St Edburgs school) LINK

Tuesday 23rd

  • Double ninth day with the grandparents (aka ditch the kids and run) @OYAP trust. LINK
